Description Floater School Bus Driver SOUTHLAND is currently seeking existing School bus Drivers to become Floater School Bus Drivers throughout Calgary. Successful applicants must have an excellent knowledge of the city and enjoy the challenge of covering different runs.

- Floater Drivers work a split shift of 6:30 am to 9:00 am and 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
- Get paid $35.00 per hour with a 5-hour per day minimum guarantee

Job Description Drivers are responsible for safely transporting students on a daily basis and must be committed to safety and customer service. Floater Drivers are laid off during July, August, Spring Break, Christmas Break, and any other school holiday over 5 days in duration.
In addition to your duties as a School Bus Driver, the principal duties and responsibilities of the Floater Driver are:
- Complete mandatory wheelchair training
- Be willing and able to drive any route and operate any equipment for Complex Learning Needs (CLN) or School Bus
- Perform non-driving duties, as assigned, during scheduled hours
- Drive safely and responsibly; be prepared for all road and weather conditions
- Verify with Dispatch what schools are on PRO
- Keep up-to-date route information
- Maintain radio contact and use proper radio protocol
- Be prepared and ready to go at the designated banking location assigned by dispatch; communicate with dispatch at the scheduled time
- Manage passenger behavior by quickly and effectively solving problems
- Submit bus misconducts to school when necessary
Requirements
- Valid Class 2S driver’s license
- 4 or less demerits, with a relatively clean abstract
