

ASD-S - Supply Teacher
About the role
POSITION SUMMARY
Supply Teachers provide temporary instructional coverage in the absence of regular classroom teachers. They maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment while delivering lessons, supervising students, and supporting school operations in accordance with New Brunswick curriculum and school policies. Supply teachers are integral to the operation of our schools and must be reliable and punctual.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the regular teacher.
- Supervise and manage student behavior in a positive and professional manner.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Adapt to various grade levels, subjects, and school settings as required.
- Monitor student progress and communicate relevant information to the regular teacher and school administration.
- Follow school procedures, policies, and emergency protocols.
- Perform supervisory duties such as recess, lunch, or hallway monitoring when assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students, staff, and school matters.
Qualifications
- Valid New Brunswick Teacher’s Certificate or eligibility for certification (preferred, but not required).
- Knowledge of provincial curriculum and educational practices.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and community partners.
- Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check as required.
Working Conditions
- Casual, on-call employment with assignments varying in duration and location.
- May work with students across multiple grade levels and subject areas.
- Must be flexible, reliable, and available to accept assignments on short notice.
