Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 315-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.

The Manager of Data Analytics is seeking two Full-Time Business Intelligence Analysts to join the team. In this role, you will design and develop impactful visualizations and dashboards that bring data, detail, and design together. Leveraging your experience with databases, data warehouses, and business intelligence tools, you will create solutions that support organizational decision-making and advance strategic priorities.

Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. The primary office location is 500 Church St., Penetanguishene, ON.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Design, build, and maintain intuitive dashboards, visualizations, and reports that effectively answer business questions and support decision-making.
  • Recommend appropriate visualization methods based on data, audience, and analytical needs.
  • Implement report logic, criteria, and analysis in alignment with best practices and customer needs.
  • Work closely with team members and cross-functional partners to understand business needs and deliver high-quality analytics solutions.
  • Act as a consultant by providing expert guidance, coaching, and feedback to others regarding analytics, reporting, and data interpretation.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and validation standards are consistently applied and maintained.
  • Support and contribute to organizational data governance practices and established data standards.
  • Translate end-user and stakeholder requirements into clear, actionable reporting solutions.
  • Document business requirements, functional specifications, and technical specifications with accuracy and clarity.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and improve organizational data literacy.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of analytics frameworks, models, and data workflows.
  • Demonstrate the organization’s core values — Caring, Respect, Accountability, Innovation — in all interactions.
  • Perform all work in compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and all applicable legislation (e.g., Occupational Health & Safety Act, Fire Code, WHMIS).
  • Managers may assign additional duties or adjust work locations based on operational requirements.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in the field of Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Programming or a related field.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in an analytic role (previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Demonstrated experience with validating and auditing data and understanding data governance principles required
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and relational databases.
  • Knowledge and experience with analytical tools and technologies (e.g. Microsoft Azure, Python, C# etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
  • Experience working with data warehouses and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Ability to translate technical information into clear, user-friendly insights.
  • Results-oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
  • Proven ability to adapt readily to change
  • Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values, and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude
  • Experience in healthcare analytics or a complex operational environment is considered an asset.
