Job Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team and under the general

direction of the Out-of-Scope Manager or Addiction Counsellor Degree Senior, is responsible for the day-to-day client services delivery (development, implementation, deliver and assists with evaluation) of Addiction Services. Performs clinical management, community education, and community development.

given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

  • Bachelor of Chemical Dependency

Licenses

  • Valid Class 5 driver's license

  • Organizational skills

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Knowledge in Motivational Assessment Process
  • Ability to accurately assess addictions and make appropriate recovery plans
  • Ability to provide individual, group and crisis management counselling skills
  • Knowledge of chemical dependency/co-dependency and effect on the family unit.  
  • Knowledge in Developmental Model of Recovery
  • Strong knowledge of policies and procedures established by Addiction Services
  • Knowledge of addictions and integrated human service delivery services
  • Ability to treat effects of substance use on an adolescent and family unit
  • Promote healthy lifestyles in urban & rural settings with diverse populations
  • Ability to accurately assess addictions and make appropriate referrals
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize work
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
