Job Description

Overview Join AtkinsRéalis as an Engineer in Training - Transmission Line and build a rewarding career in the power transmission and distribution industry. Based in Calgary, you will work within a dynamic multidisciplinary engineering team supporting innovative HVAC and HVDC transmission line projects that contribute to the energy transition and the reliability of electrical networks. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise, work on strategic infrastructure projects, and grow your engineering career with a world-class organization.

Your Role

Prepare conceptual and detailed designs for transmission line projects. Prepare route selection reports, conductor selection reports, technical studies, reports, and specifications. Coordinate project activities with internal engineering teams and clients. Calculate structural loads and prepare Design Requirement Drawings (DRDs) and related specifications. Support the delivery of large-scale transmission line projects involving HVAC and HVDC technologies. Supervise and provide guidance to technicians and drafters assigned to projects. Contribute to innovative engineering solutions that support reliable and sustainable energy infrastructure.

About You

Ability to prepare and review engineering designs and technical documentation for transmission line projects. Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER, and PLS-POLE software. Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients. Aptitude for analyzing structural loading requirements and preparing engineering specifications. Proficiency in ==English== communication, both written and spoken; French is considered an asset.
