THE OPPORTUNITY
BBE seeks a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team. This position is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services to support our procurement and logistics operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, vendor management experience, and the ability to balance cost-effectiveness with quality and timeliness.

We are seeking a detailed and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our expanding team. The role breakdown for this position is 35% customer service, 35% procurement, and 30% freight forwarding. This role will work primarily in our YEG office, with some flexibility on scheduled WFH days.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sourcing commodities related to various business areas.
- Gather & evaluate Vendor RFQs, proposals, and purchase terms and conditions.
- Evaluate and submit proposals to external customers and complete the scope of work from the operation’s standpoint.
- Generate & analyze key Vendor and Customer Reports
- Assistance in developing and maintaining item and vendor master in ERP.
- Find and qualify suppliers of goods and services in existing and new categories, establish pricing and commercial terms, and set up for import into BBE’s sales catalogue.
- Ensure relationships with suppliers of goods and services are managed to stay aligned with BBE’s commitments to customers and other stakeholders.
- Measure vendor-related KPIs and further negotiate with existing suppliers for better pricing, terms and conditions, and continuous performance improvement.
- Respond promptly to external customer inquiries.
- Communicate with external customers regarding product alternatives, shipment delays, and order updates
- Ensure that the value of the Procurement function is quantifiable continuously.
- Contribute to BBE’s value chain developments to enhance our service offering.
- Commit to BBE's QHSE standards and integrate BBE's values into everyday practices.
- Process orders and communicate with external customers.
- Use the BBE or the carrier portal to find the best price for freight and ship the shipment from the vendor to the customer.
- Run open order reports for customers and vendors.
- Fill our BOLs, packing slips, and labels.
- Additional duties as assigned.
CORPORATE COMPLIANCE DUTIES
- Actively participate in QHSETR programs and systems.
- Contribute to and foster transparent, direct communication, education, and customer service enhancement with the operations team and clients.
- Ensure file detail and supporting documentation allow for efficient handovers to Operations and Accounting.
- Contribute to BBE’s continuous improvement and organizational efficiency goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University of Technical school degree in commerce, supply chain, or other relevant experience.
- Minimum of 1 year experience sourcing and managing suppliers.
- Product knowledge of industrial MOR and lubricants is an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in MS software applications.
- Professional approach to vendor and customer relationship management.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal/written communication.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and problem-solving ability.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing methodologies, and supplier relationship management.
