About the role

  • Location: This opportunity can be remote within Canada (excluding Quebec), or onsite/hybrid in the Vancouver, BC Lower Mainland. Our head office is in Surrey, BC.
  • Annual Base Salary: $60,000 to $76,400 CAD
  • Please note that employment is contingent upon the successful completion of reference checks and background checks, including a Canadian criminal background check.

Community Specialist I

Safe Software is hiring a Community Specialist I to support the day-to-day operations and engagement of our FME Community. You’ll contribute to online conversations, manage private user groups, and assist in the delivery of key programs like the Early Adopter Program and FME Breakfast of Champions. Your work will help ensure our Community is an inclusive, informative, and engaging space for all users.

About The Team

The Community Team works to build a strong and connected FME community that fosters collaboration, feedback, and knowledge exchange. We create, support, and manage programs that drive user engagement like the Early Adopters product feedback program, Special Interest Groups, and FME Breakfast of Champions in-person meetups. We also manage online forums, design fun and creative ways for users to learn about FME and connect with each other, and create content that keeps members informed.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Community Specialist I, you will:

  • Support conversations and engagement within the FME Community platform.
  • Post and moderate discussion topics to encourage participation.
  • Help manage private user groups and the Early Adopter Program.
  • Coordinate and support events like the FME Breakfast of Champions.
  • Share community updates, announcements, and engagement content.
  • Monitor conversations to maintain a welcoming, inclusive tone.
  • Track and report on engagement metrics to inform future improvements.
  • Contribute to special projects that enhance the community experience.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

Safers come from a variety of backgrounds with diverse skills and knowledge. That being said, those who are most successful in this role have experience with the following:

  • 1–2 years of experience in community management, customer engagement, or online communications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable moderating discussions and supporting online interactions.
  • Ability to coordinate and support community programs and events.
  • Creative thinking and an interest in generating fresh ideas to engage users and grow the FME Community.
  • Experience working collaboratively with internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Enthusiasm for helping others and supporting a welcoming, inclusive user experience.

Desired skills / Bonus points:

  • Experience with community platforms or CRM tools.
  • Understanding of customer or product communities.
  • Familiarity with engagement metrics or reporting tools.
  • Interest in learning about data integration and FME technology.
