Who we are
The Apprentice Instrument Technician is required to assist in the growth and development of the Custom Solutions department by increasing productivity and relieving other team members of basic and intermediate duties.
Responsibilities
● Maintain the 5S standard of the shop and housekeeping ● Assembly of assemblies and panels ● Assistance with inspections and testing ● Operation of CNC equipment for bending and coiling ● Assisting with equipment maintenance ● Mentoring of junior fabrication associates ● Assist Field Engineering team on layouts ● Meet with customers for testing and layouts ● Cutting and deburring tubing ● Bending tubing both by hand and with CNC bender ● Installation of Swagelok tube fittings ● Production of Swagelok hoses ● Working hands-on with the product and working with a team to complete projects on time ● Training using an online portal, Swagelok University ● Additional assistance and responsibilities as assigned and as development progresses.
Qualifications/Skills Requirements
Education and Experience: High School Diploma Trade Training An asset but not required: Technical industry background Experience as a carpenter, millwright, metal worker, construction worker, electrician, fabricator, or welder Experience within Oil & Gas industry or Instrumentation industry
Skills and Competencies
Intermediate skill with hand tools and power tools Basic computer skills such as email and internet usage Knowledge on analytic software including but not limited to: SAP, Crystal Reports, Advanced Excel Analytics, Power BI, and Business Systems Understanding of assembly, fabrication, or instrumentation Attention to detail Ability to read P&ID or CAD drawings Able to think and problem solve analytically An asset but not required: Understanding of Solidworks software Awareness of the Swagelok product line
