Wood is currently recruiting for an Intermediate Expeditor to support procurement and project delivery across our Projects Canada portfolio.

This role is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of materials and equipment in line with project schedules and contractual commitments. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers, procurement teams, and project stakeholders to proactively manage risks, monitor performance, and maintain supply chain efficiency

The Role

The Intermediate Expeditor will manage expediting activities for purchase orders, ensuring supplier compliance with delivery schedules and documentation requirements. This includes identifying potential delays, coordinating recovery actions, and maintaining accurate reporting to support project execution.

You will play a key role in maintaining supply chain performance, minimizing disruptions, and ensuring alignment with project timelines and commercial requirements

  • Responsible for the Expediting of Purchase Orders to ensure delivery on time and within project schedules/purchase order terms.

  • Responsible for coordinating all aspects of desk and field expediting as determined by project strategy, processes and procedures.

  • Manage and monitor packages and identify delivery improvement opportunities.

  • Analyze and evaluate the supplier's document and data submittal plans

  • Identify potential or actual disruptions in suppliers’ submissions and delivery schedules

  • Support the implementation of project selected actions to avoid or minimize the impact of supplier schedule disruptions on the project

  • Monitor, evaluate, and report the supplier's performance against the supplier's schedule

  • Assist in the implementation of supplier recovery plans

  • Perform shop expediting (as required) - take actions necessary to physically verify the supplier's reported progress and ability to meet its delivery obligations

  • Has detailed understanding of the supplier delivery obligations form the terms and conditions of purchase

  • Review and interpret supplier production plans/schedules, identify delivery improvement opportunities and negotiate delivery improvements / slippage recovery plans

  • Review expediting reports to confirm status of orders and sub-orders and validate the agreed manufacturing schedules.

  • Monitor the progress of receipt and return of supplier documentation.

  • Negotiate improved delivery / recovery plans where required.

  • Maintain an auditable file of all relevant purchasing documentation for each purchase order in relevant shared drive/ area.

  • Demonstrate commitment to safe working practices.

  • Understands and works to the established Project Financial Management Framework

  • Understands and lives Woods vision, values and behaviors.

  • 5+ years of expediting/purchasing experience within EPC/EPCM projects; preferably with mining industry experience

  • Preference will be given to candidates with in-situ SAGD experience

  • Technical college diploma and / or university degree

  • SCMP designation or equivalent preferred

  • Highly effective skills in organization, planning and communication and the ability to work in a team environment

  • Detail and goal-oriented execution style

  • Experience working within Supplier/manufacturing shops is an asset

  • Familiar with engineering documentation

  • Proactive approach, deadline oriented

  • Previous experience in purchasing support would be an asset

  • Strong business computer skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are mandatory

  • Experience working in an engineering consulting environment is preferred

  • Advanced computer skills with emphasis on MS Office applications, SharePoint, Electronic Project Management Systems (ERP).

  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
