Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

What is the opportunity?

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic communications professional to join our team as a Sr. Manager, Employee Engagement & Change Enablement. This critical role will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive internal communications strategies, leading training and development initiatives, managing high-visibility internal events, and driving change management efforts to support the adoption of new technologies, processes, and initiatives across the organization. The successful candidate will utilize storytelling techniques to drive real adoption and engagement, and will be responsible for tracking and reporting on key metrics to measure the effectiveness of communications, training, and change management initiatives. We are looking for a creative and innovative thinker who is excited about building new capabilities and applying innovative approaches, including utilization of GenAI tools, to drive business outcomes. This role will play a key part in promoting an engineering culture and driving employee engagement and alignment with FIAT’s vision and priorities. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging technology to drive people and process changes and eager to make a meaningful impact.

What will you do?

  • Develop and execute internal communications strategies to drive awareness and alignment around FIAT’s vision, priorities, culture, employee engagement initiatives and success stories
  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of high-visibility internal events, including Leadership Messages, Town Halls, Extended Roundtables, Employee Profiles, SMT Coffee Chats, Quarterly Accomplishments, Quarterly Employee Appreciation Webinars, and People Manager Forums.
  • Manage and coordinate weekly SMT meetings and FIAT Offsite meetings, including the development of agendas, minutes, and action items.
  • Develop internal speeches, presentations, and other executive communications to support the Vice President, Finance & Audit Technology
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy for the Finance & Audit Technology Connect site, ensuring that it serves as a key platform for effective communication, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing
  • Develop and implement initiatives to promote cultural awareness, employee engagement, and retention
  • Leverage GenAI tools to optimize and innovate internal communications, for speed and effectiveness
  • Metrics and Reporting: track engagement metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communications and conduct regular surveys to gauge employee satisfaction and understanding of FIAT’s priorities, culture, and effectiveness support capabilities

What do you need to Succeed?
Must have’s:

  • Undergraduate degree/postgraduate certificate or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, English or related field.
  • 7+ years of employee engagement and change enablement experience
  • Experience developing and implementing targeted communications strategies and initiatives that support the FIAT’s technology vision and goals
  • Broad experience with supporting of monthly meet-ups, hackathons, and webinars
  • Learning & Upskilling by maintaining internal Connect site and resources, ensuring that employees have access to relevant training materials and information
  • Metrics and Reporting: Track training participation and completion rates to measure the effectiveness of training programs; prepare training dashboards to demonstrate learning & upskilling progress across FIAT
