About the role

Technical Lead:
TXT Group, for its company PACE ENGINEERING, is looking for a Technical Lead in Montreal

The selected candidate will work closely with the product management team and product engineering team.

It is essential to have previous experience in SW development approaches and technologies along with experience in project/product development cycles and leadership of a team, preferably in the defense, commercial aviation, or industrial sectors.

Main responsibilities:
Lead the planning, design and implementation of software solutions, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.

Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives that advance our technical capabilities and competitive position.

Collaborate and communicate effectively with the technical team, sales, support, and product management to define technical requirements, architect solutions, and implement scalable and robust systems and applications.

Design software systems, considering scalability, performance and security needs.

Conduct technical reviews of industry frameworks and technologies.

Identify technical debt and areas for improvement,

Implement solutions to enhance code quality and maintainability.

Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team to support their professional development and growth.

Conduct in-depth analysis of technical problems and propose innovative solutions that address business needs and challenges.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, and evaluate their potential impact on our technical architecture and strategy.

Drive continuous improvement in technical processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.

Act as a subject matter expert in specific technical domains, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders and decision-makers.

Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions to address them in a timely manner.

Required skills and qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or a related field.

5+ years of experience as a Technical Lead or a similar role in software development.

Experience in programming languages (e.g. C++, C#, C, Python, WPF, XML, XSLT)

Knowledge of safety critical software development standard (DO-178C / ED-12C) (asset)

Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) (asset)

Knowledge of computer graphics development (asset)

Manage multiple development efforts and priorities.

Experience in leading distributed or remote development teams.

Good knowledge of written and spoken English with professional language skills.
