This role is key to guiding cross functional teams from the initial concept and design through to the successful launch of exciting new products. What are the primary responsibilities of this ro le?

Overall Mission

  • Project Management of the design and implementation of new standard product launches

Project Management

  • Develop, optimize, and evolve the comprehensive Project Plan
  • Build consensus, and gain approval of the project plan with relevant team members and management
  • Drive project actions to completion
  • Facilitate cross functional problem solving
  • Identify gaps in project task responsibilities, work with management to resolve
  • Guide Product Development team on non-standard or ambiguous projects utilizing Project Management frameworks

Communication

  • Communicate with clarity to ensure requirements, deliverables and timelines are understood
  • Facilitate productive project team meetings and communications
  • Continually monitor effectiveness of communication plans, adapt as necessary
  • Report on project status, identifying significant decisions or deviations
  • Work with the project team to effectively present project status to internal representatives, including senior management

Risk Management

  • Proactively manage risks throughout the entire project cycle, including analyses of problems and solutions

Learning

  • Refine our Product Launch Process by facilitating impactful "lessons learned" sessions
  • Cultivate a culture of shared knowledge and collaboration within Product Development
  • Champion adoption of enhanced project management tools and best practices

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • 8+ years of Program / Project Management experience in a relevant industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in a field related to product development preferred
  • Project Management certification is an asset
  • Experience with the Design and Development processes of a manufacturing organization
  • Experience within the furniture industry is valuable
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials associated with commercial products
  • Ability to travel internationally (infrequent)
