PURPOSE Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting & Tax Compliance this individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting and finance requirements. The ability to maintain client confidentiality, excellent organization skills, and the ability to communicate effectively are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the quarterly billing process, including invoice preparation, the collection of accounts, and the management of cashflow;
• Prepare and post daily transactions and maintain the general ledgers of a variety of entities;
• Complete bank and expense report reconciliations on a monthly basis;
• Co-ordinates payment of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax instalments and remittances, including corporate tax instalments, personal tax instalments and non-resident tax payments;
• Coordinate with the President and Treasurer to manage bank deposits and vendor payments;
• Manage the cheque requisition process for a variety of entities;
• Prepare the quarter and year-end closing of the company’s books including but not limited to: income statement variance analysis, analysis of prepaid expenses, and recording of accruals for review by the Accountant and Director of Financial Reporting
• Manage and maintain petty cash float;
• Maintain the Tax database of digital and physical filing of records
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including courier service arrangements.

Education, Experience And Personal Characteristics

• Degree or Diploma in Business Administration & Accounting or in related field.
• Proficient in accounting software; QuickBooks is preferred.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; and proficiency in Outlook.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of accounting, including auditing and financial record keeping/reporting.
