About the role
The Dispatcher plays a key role in coordinating day-to-day field operations within the flushing and sewer maintenance division. This role ensures efficient scheduling, communication, and deployment of crews and equipment to meet customer needs, maintain safety standards, and support company growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling & Coordination
- Dispatch flushing crews, vacuum trucks, CCTV operators, and drivers to jobs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Manage daily and weekly schedules, adjusting for emergencies, delays, or customer changes.
- Balance workload across crews while ensuring compliance with customer requirements and city regulations.
- Communication & Support
- Act as the primary point of contact between field staff, operations, and customers.
- Provide field teams with job details, maps, permits, and safety requirements before dispatch.
- Communicate job progress updates, delays, or issues to management and clients as needed.
- Documentation & Systems
- Maintain accurate records of job assignments, crew hours, equipment usage, and service reports.
- Utilize dispatching software (e.g., RazorSync, uAttend, Samsara or company-specific tools) to track assignments.
- Ensure all work orders and daily logs are complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
- Operational Support
- Monitor traffic, weather, and site conditions to adjust schedules and minimize downtime.
- Assist with coordination of emergency or after-hours service calls.
- Support compliance with safety policies, vehicle/equipment inspections, and jobsite protocols.
Qualifications & Skills

Experience in dispatching, scheduling, or coordinating field services (utility, sewer, construction, or related industries preferred).

Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Proficiency with scheduling or dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.

Knowledge of sewer flushing, hydro-vac, or municipal infrastructure services is an asset.
