Legal Assistant - Family
Downtown Toronto
Our client, a highly regarded and well respected Family Law firm, located in the core of downtown Toronto seeks a Family Law Legal Assistant to join its well known team. This is a full time permanent role. This client will consider any level of Family Law experience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and clerking support creating documents and correspondence
- Provide administrative support which include (but not limited to) completing expense reports, courier forms, file opening forms, photocopying, scanning, faxing, filing and creation of file folders.
- Professionally interact with all firm members and clients.
- Photocopy and/or organize documents for distribution, mailing and binding.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, meetings, and conferences.
- Prepare and generate pre-bills for monthly billing, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Skills required:
- Legal Assistant, Law Clerk or Paralegal Certificate/Diploma from an accredited institution.
- Experience working within a family law practice area in a law firm.
- Solid understanding of Family Law Rules and court filing processes.
- Hands-on experience working with transactional/complex documents.
- Document specialist capability, with strong technical skills working within Microsoft Office, Divorcemate and ACL.
- Solid transcription and proofreading skills.
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner and provide exceptional client service.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with ease.
