General Purpose And Scope Of Position The Hay Processing Operator specializes in the processing, handling, and shipping of hay bales. We are seeking a self-motivated and customer-focused individual to assist with hay bale operations, including equipment operation, quality control, material handling, and maintaining housekeeping standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and train on all plant roles (e.g., forklift operation, container loading).
- Operate and maintain processing equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Perform quality control checks and ensure accuracy when handling products.
- Complete accurate documentation of plant activities, including processing, maintenance, and cleaning.
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks and maintain proper warehouse organization.
- Maintain overall cleanliness of the facility and work areas.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, and other tools as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and administrative procedures.
- Support team efforts with a positive attitude and strong communication.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
Key Skills And Abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Willingness and ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts.
- Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs. (or up to 110 lbs. with a partner) in a dusty, non-climate-controlled environment.
- Strong math, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete required documentation accurately.
- Willingness to work overtime hours when needed.

Compensation And Benefits
- The base compensation for this position ranges from $18.70 to $24.89 per hour. Note that wages may vary based on skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, mental health, Life & disability, and retirement plan participation, including an employer match of up to 3% into your RRSP.
