About the Role

The Township is seeking applicants to fill three (3) part-time contract vacancies for the position of Facility Maintenance Custodian. Reporting to the Supervisor, Corporate Facilities, the Facility Maintenance Custodian is responsible for a variety of custodial and general maintenance tasks in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, sanitation and safety of buildings and ensures the physical security of the facilities. Responsibilities include maintaining clean and sanitized buildings, conducting running maintenance & repairs, snow removal/general landscaping, ordering & maintaining supplies, troubleshooting building operations, facility set ups and some coordination of trades.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate must have completed Grade 12 or equivalent combined and have one year of related experience in a custodial facility maintenance position, along with basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. The applicant must have thorough knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS; be an effective communicator; be able to work independently with the ability to lift up to 20 kilograms and climb to heights on a ladder. The candidate must be available to work up to 24 flexible hours per week including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. A valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License and a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Vulnerable Sector Screening are also required for this role.

This position offers a salary commensurate with experience and education (2025 wage schedule range of $23.95-$28.78 per hour).
