INVENTORY ANALYST - DANSTAR FERMENT A.G

MAIN FUNCTIONS

Joining the Corporate Finance/Accounting team and working for one of the group’s most important entities means being part of a team that works passionately and tirelessly to support all operational business units by providing high-quality and timely financial information.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Legal Entity Controller of “Danstar Ferment AG,” the Inventory Analyst will play a key role in ensuring accurate accounting, reconciliation, and analysis of inventory across multiple warehouses and global entities. The candidate will have strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for process improvement and automation.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Accounting and Reconciliation

  • Validate productions before posting (Consumption, reported quantity).
  • Perform monthly accounting entries related to inventory.
  • Reconcile inventory across multiple warehouses.
  • Validate production and storage provisions, including intercompany inventory (ICIN).

Inventory Analysis and Reporting

  • Conduct monthly and annual inventory analyses, including obsolescence and count planning.
  • Analyze production variances, explain key discrepancies, and suggest corrections if material.
  • Prepare and validate reports on products in transit, PO-billed products, warehouse transfers, or products pending credit.
  • Support execution and completion of annual inventory counts across multiple locations.

Process Monitoring and Improvement

  • Track and validate order receipts, pricing, and items in transit.
  • Collaborate with AP Stock and IT to resolve system issues and test new deployments.
  • Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with controllers and various teams to resolve complex inventory issues.
  • Respond to CCM requests and support monthly cost validations.
  • Communicate with entities to ensure timely receipt of invoices and inventory documents.
  • Manage daily inventory-related communications and emails.
  • Participate in budgeting (P&L, especially regarding recipes/BOM, standard cost, quantity, indirect costs).
  • Maintain documentation and support audit and compliance requirements.

GENERAL CRITERIA

Required

  • University degree in accounting, finance, supply chain, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in inventory accounting or financial analysis.
  • Good understanding of general ledger processes and intercompany transactions.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Cognos, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel (advanced skills in pivot tables and linking) and other Microsoft Office suite products.
  • Bilingual (French/English) preferred.
