Position Summary

The City of Fort Saskatchewan is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join our team at the Dow Centennial Centre. Candidates who possess experience and exceptional interpersonal skills may be considered to provide a healthy, safe and welcoming environment for patrons utilizing the Fitness Centre.

Responsibilities

include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Ongoing monitoring of the fitness/wellness centre as well as the running track.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation by cleaning equipment on a daily basis.
  • Assist in set up, supervise, and take down of equipment for programs.
  • Ensure fitness and weight training center and running track are used according to regulations and policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all clients, contractors and instructors.
  • Handle difficult situations in a positive courteous manner.
  • Complete daily duties checklist.
  • Prepare reports such as incident/accident, statistical and inventory.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma and a current First Aid and CPR certification. Fitness-related credentials or post-secondary education is considered an asset. General knowledge of health and fitness and fitness equipment is required. Experience working in a fitness & wellness centre and an Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification are considered assets. Candidates must have exceptional customer service skills, a positive work attitude, and be able to work in a team environment.

This position is within the scope of C.U.P.E. Local 30, and as such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within the Collective Agreement.

Rate of Pay: $20.87 - $22.95 per hour

Hours of Work: Minimum of 15 hours per week.
Early morning, mid-afternoon, evening and weekend shifts

Duration: Immediately – February 6, 2026
