Job Summary
The Physician Quality Leader (PQL) role is an exciting medical leadership opportunity to provide direction to physicians and other healthcare providers on quality and patient safety initiatives. The primary goal is improving quality and supporting the reduction of medical/health care errors that contribute to adverse patient outcomes at each acute care site and within programs and networks. In this role, you will work with fellow physician leaders and other clinical staff to promote physician engagement and build capacity for quality improvement. You will also collaborate with senior leadership and staff in identifying evidence-based strategies to ensure best practices implementation at the site, within programs and networks.
The Physician Quality Leader (PQL) - Medical Imaging (MI) MRI is a physician passionate about fostering a culture of safety in clinical services and establishing evidence-based patient care models to enhance patient safety at their respective acute care site. This role involves collaboration with the Clinical Quality and Patient Safety Department, senior leadership, department heads, regional leaders, and support systems. The position reports to the Executive Medical Director (EMD), Quality and Patient Safety, and is part of the leadership team, which includes the Regional Medical Director/Regional Department Head, Local Department Heads, and other medical leads. Major responsibilities for the role: Engage MI physicians and interdisciplinary teams to advance adoption of recommended best practices. Support education and knowledge translation related to MI best practices. Monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented improvements. Support regional alignment MI practices across Fraser Health and share learning through appropriate forums. The hours are flexible - evening meetings and travel may be required. The position would be for one year. KEY DELIVERABLES Develop a project charter outlining scope, objectives, and implementation approach. Identify evaluation measures and indicators of success to assess progress and impact. Provide periodic progress updates to the ED & EMD/RMD/SMD - CQPS, MI Provide a summary report of progress and outcomes at the conclusion of the project term.
