Subjects
Lethbridge School Division is seeking dedicated and collaborative Complexity Classroom Teachers to join Galbraith Elementary School, Westminster Elementary School, Fleetwood Bawden Elementary School, Mike Mountain Horse Elementary School and Senator Joyce Fairbairn Middle School. This role is focused on supporting students with diverse and complex learning needs within inclusive school environments. The successful candidates will work closely with classroom teachers, learning support staff, and administration to ensure all students are provided with meaningful, responsive, and individualized learning opportunities. The successful candidates will:
- Have previous experience working with students with complex learning needs (preferred);
- Possess a strong understanding of inclusive education, differentiation, and responsive teaching practices;
- Work collaboratively with teachers and learning support staff to implement targeted interventions and strategies;
- Be skilled in supporting students with behavioural and self-regulation needs;
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills;
- Be flexible, reflective, and solution-focused mindset;
- Support students with cognitive, developmental, social, academic, and behavioural challenges;
- Use trauma-informed, strength-based practices to support student growth and well-being;
- Monitor progress and adjust supports based on student needs;
- Foster inclusive, supportive classroom environments.
Requirements
- Applicants must possess or be eligible to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
Conditions of Employment
In order to ensure and maintain a safe and secure working and learning environment, applicants new to Lethbridge School
Division who are offered employment must provide:
- A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
- A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
- Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
- Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
