Pharmacy Assistant at Rastin's Pharmacy
About the role
Rastin’s PharmaChoice Pharmacy has been locally owned and operated since Ancaster resident Janet Rastin purchased Wilson Street Medical Pharmacy back in 1996, making it Ancaster’s longest established independent pharmacy. We are very active within the community and pride ourselves on our friendly, fast, and reliable service. We are looking for the right person to expand our team. This position is a permanent full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities:
- Process prescriptions using computer software
- Accurately count, measure and package medications, according to prescription orders
- Monitor storage and inventory of medications and supplies
- Providing exceptional service to customers
- Answering incoming telephone calls in a timely and professional manner
- Be a contributing team member willing to step in where needed
- Accurately and efficiently completes sales transactions, and processes merchandise information through point-of-sale system
- Assists in inventory management, display and upkeep of retail and front shop operations
- OLG lottery sales, returns and inventory management
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team setting
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Propel Rx paperless system an asset
- Blister packaging and batch billing experience
- Previous experience in pharmacy or other related fields
- Retail pharmacy billing experience
- Have an understanding of the unique nature of an independent Pharmacy, including speed & accuracy of service, personalized service, and comprehensive care
- 1 year pharmacy experience
