About the role
Job Description Some of what you will do: The Sales Manager (SM II) is responsible for developing, executing, and achieving the sales plan for all accounts within their assigned area, including account, quota & geographical assignments; sales targeting and marketing strategies; product and category penetration as well as profitability growth of primarily large/enterprise customers across multiple account segments.
The SM identifies, recruits, interviews, hires, manages, coaches, develops and performance manages all associates within their defined sales team.
Specifically, You Will
- Recruit, train, coach, develop and manage the ongoing performance of the team sales representatives.
- Develop relationships at a senior level with key large & enterprise accounts.
- Participate in sales calls, field days, meetings, and business reviews to provide support for accounts and sales representatives as needed.
- Schedule ongoing training and development sessions as needed to support team skill development.
- Lead 1:1’s with your team members to help overcome obstacles and discuss career goals.
- Achieve all sales and profitability targets including penetration and retention targets.
- Ensure execution and delivery of key organizational performance metrics and objectives.
- Provides guidance on goals and objectives through clear, effective, timely and constructive feedback to team. Ensures accurate development plans are in place for team associates.
- Manages and provides leadership including training, work assignments, and performance evaluations.
- Develops and executes account development plans with Account Managers and Specialists.
- Ensures all sales activity including customer data and sales funnel information is captured within key internal systems (including CRM).
Some Of What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three (3) years to five (5) years sales management experience required.
- Office product industry experience helpful, distribution selling environment required.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the sales process.
- Experienced in coaching for results, excellent organizational skills and demonstrated positive leadership style.
- Creative selling, project management skills and strategic planning ability required.
- 3-5 years leadership experience in a B2B environment.
- Minimum 5 years of direct selling experience in a B2B environment.
