Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, or designate, the HR Generalist will work in a close team environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide recruiting assistance and candidate screening and assessment, as well as implementing new recruitment strategies.
- Participate in various onboarding, crossboarding, and offboarding procedures.
- Prepare and amend where necessary HR documents, i.e. change of status, employment contracts and recruitment guides.
- Implement and recommend policies and procedures to drive improvements and enhance organizational efficiencies.
- Monitor HR-related documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business processes.
- Participate on the Occupational Health & Safety Committee and oversee campus’ Health and Safety.
- Monitor HR-related documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with business processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to advertise and recruit the best possible talent for the organization, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
- Provide training and support to other team members of the human resources department.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, Diversity & Inclusion and Payroll Department with various projects.
- Respond to internal and external HR-related requests and provide assistance
- Assist managers with investigations.
- Organize employee training initiatives to promote skills improvement.
Qualifications and Education
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources
- Minimum two (2) years of related experience
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, or working towards designation
Skills
- Knowledge of Employment Standard Act and other relevant HR policies and procedures
- A strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR
- Good knowledge of data analysis including: identifying appropriate data, compiling and, reporting of results, implications, and recommendations
- Ability to act with tact, good judgment, and discretion; maintaining confidentiality of files, personal information, and other matters, as appropriate
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong decision-making skills
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Ability to complete work in a timely manner with accuracy and attention to details
- High standards of ethics, a professional attitude and commitment to quality service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
