About the Student Success and Engagement (SSE) team at Humber:
The Student Success and Engagement (SSE) team is a service-oriented portfolio whose mission is to empower our diverse community of learners to discover their potential. Within the SSE, examples of our services are Student Wellness, Student Life and Learning, Equity Hubs, Accessible Learning Services, Advising and Careers, Athletics and Recreation. SSE aims to cultivate curiosity, resilience, confidence, and reflection in our learners, so that Humber students can thrive both within their academic pursuits and beyond.

About the Facilitator, Student Life Role:
The incumbent will be responsible for assisting with the coordination and the overall operation of the First Year Experience (FYE) & Orientation program. Primary responsibilities, in conjunction with the Coordinator, Student Life, will include the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the First Year Experience & Orientation program; recruitment and training of the Senior Orientation Leaders, Senior Peer Mentors, Digital Content Creators and Volunteer Mentors; recruitment of and programming for first year student mentees. Other duties, in conjunction with the Coordinator, Student Life, will include the coordination and scheduling of retention programming; the evaluation and further development of retention programs. The position will also support students and staff in their execution of duties for student life programming.

Education
The successful candidate will possess a two year diploma in a related field or equivalent.

Experience/Skills
The incumbent will have a minimum of 1 year experience as a student working/volunteering in multiple leadership roles, or in role(s) of increasing responsibility. As well as at least 1 year of experience in event planning and volunteer recruitment. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams. Experience beyond para-professional roles is considered an asset, along with strong organizational and communication skills and a passion for student engagement and leadership development.
