About the role
What you will do:
The Tax Manager will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing the tax function through the usage of leading-edge technologies including RPA with Power Automate, and Generative AI through Copilot.
In this role, you'll lead the charge in continuing the digital transformation of the tax function. You'll learn to leverage emerging technologies to streamline the preparation detailed quarterly and annual tax provisions for Canada and our international subsidiaries, research of tax issues, optimize tax installment processes, and ensure seamless compliance for corporate and partnership tax filings. Additionally, you'll be at the forefront of managing tax audits, utilizing and building advanced tools to simplify and expedite these processes.

This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office per week). Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparing detailed quarterly and annual income tax accounting provision schedules, tax notes for financial reporting and book to provision adjustments
- Manage the delivery of corporate and partnership tax returns including working with external consultants, preparing information requirements, working papers and reviewing tax returns
- Identify process improvement opportunities and utilize emerging technologies such as Power Automate and Generative AI through Copilot to build AI powered solutions and transform manual processes using low code/no code solutions
- Manage sales and income tax audits (federal/provincial) and prepare/gather requested information and supporting documentation
- Stay abreast of new tax legislation, research and communicate tax implications of business transactions to ensure compliance and act as a tax resource for other departments and stakeholders
- Assist with the development and maintenance of internal controls and process improvements along with documentation for tax functions
Qualifications:
- CPA with CICA-in-depth tax course
- University degree with focus on business or accounting preferred
- 3+ years of relevant tax work experience in public accounting or industry
- Experienced in Canadian tax compliance with knowledge of commodity tax and corporate income tax accounting
- Familiarity with RPA tools such as Power Automate, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Alteryx would be an asset
- Experience with PeopleSoft and Taxprep is an asset
- Basic understanding and experience with any coding languages (Python, VBA or SQL)
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel with demonstrated modeling skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration at various levels across the organization, as well as with external partner organizations
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting principles
- Knowledge of business processes, specifically sales and purchases and legal entity financial reporting
