Overview: Pembina's Information Services Unit manages and maintains the company's infrastructure, provides technical support, ensures data security and accessibility, implements new technology, strategies for future development, manages vendors, and ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Pembina Pipeline is seeking a Cyber Security Operational Technology (OT) Senior Analyst to join our Cyber Security team. This role will serve as a critical technical liaison between the Cyber Security team and field site teams that operate Operational Technology (OT) systems, ensuring the security and reliability of Pembina’s OT infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in OT systems, industrial control systems (ICS), and cyber security principles, along with excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and operational teams. This position will also involve leading and supporting cyber security projects focused on protecting control systems and critical infrastructure, ensuring Pembina’s operations remain resilient against evolving cyber threats.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

Technical Liaison;
-
Act as the primary point of contact between the Cyber Security team and field site teams to address OT security concerns and initiatives;
-
Collaborate with field teams to understand operational requirements and ensure cyber security measures align with business needs; and
-
Translate technical cyber security concepts into actionable recommendations for field teams.

Cyber Security for OT Systems;
-
Implement and maintain cyber security controls for OT environments, including industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, and distributed control systems (DCS);
-
Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for OT systems and recommend mitigation strategies;
-
Monitor and respond to security incidents affecting OT systems, ensuring timely resolution and reporting;
-
Lead and support cyber security projects focused on safeguarding control systems and critical infrastructure, including system hardening, network segmentation, and threat detection; and
-
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design and implement secure architectures for OT systems.

Policy and Compliance;
-
Ensure OT systems comply with Pembina’s cyber security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements;
-
Assist in the development and enforcement of OT-specific security policies and procedures; and
-
Support audits and assessments related to OT cyber security.

Training and Awareness;
-
Provide training and guidance to field site teams on OT cyber security best practices; and
-
Promote awareness of cyber security risks and mitigation strategies within operational teams.

Collaboration and Innovation;

Work closely with IT, engineering, and operations teams to integrate cyber security into OT system design and maintenance;
-
Stay up-to-date with emerging OT cyber security threats, technologies, and industry trends; and
-
Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in OT security practices.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications;
-
Significant experience (e.g., 5-10+ years) in cyber security, OT systems, or industrial control systems;
-
Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills;
-
Strong knowledge of OT systems, including ICS, SCADA, DCS, and PLCs;
-
Experience working on cyber security projects involving control systems and critical infrastructure is required;
-
Hands-on experience with firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and endpoint protection solutions for OT environments;
-
Understanding of network protocols and architectures used in OT systems (e.g., Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP);
-
Proven ability to design and implement secure architectures for control systems and critical infrastructure;
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
-
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, or processes and apply them effectively in a fast-paced environment;
-
Ability to rapidly acquire and apply new technical skills, tools, and frameworks in response to evolving project requirements and emerging technologies; and
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Security Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications;
-
Relevant certifications (CISSP, GICSP, ISA/IEC 62443) are highly desirable;
-
Experience in the energy, oil and gas, or utilities sector;

Experience implementing and managing cybersecurity tools;
-
Familiarity with cyber security frameworks such as NIST CSF, IEC 62443, and ISO 27001;
-
Knowledge of agile development processes;
-
Experience with ServiceNow;
-
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP);
-
Scripting or development experience (e.g., Python, Java);
-
Experience in broader GRC functions; and
-
Knowledge of application security concepts (SAST/DAST, Threat Modeling).

The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Calgary. Pembina’s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Fridays. The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
