About the role

Your Opportunity: Working in the Leduc Community Hospital IV Therapy and Outpatient department, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care and practices to full scope as defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Other key competencies for this role include Interpersonal, organizational and assessment skills. Ability to work independently while continuing to collaborate with team members. Ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating workloads. Accountability, critical thinking, time management and communication skills. Ability to respond to new needs in the role as they arise, with initiative and self-direction.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Certification and current experience with IV initiation and phlebotomy. Demonstrated excellent assessment, organizational leadership, and patient care skills. Ability to communicate findings (verbal and written) in a concise and accurate manner. Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills. Proven reliability/dependability. Two years of recent acute care and/or IV therapy clinic experience with strong knowledge in CVC/ PICC care, medication administration and wound care.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience in Outpatient and IV therapy is preferred. Computer literacy and experience with Connect Care an asset.
