##Scope

Are you passionate about leveraging and integrating technology to support the delivery of enterprise IT solutions in a vibrant and growing city? This is your opportunity to join an award-winning organization as a IT Solutions Engineer (Technical Lead) where you will be translating enterprise architecture designs and business requirements into detailed technical designs and implemented solutions.

Working closely with architects, business analysts, project managers, and multidisciplinary technical teams, you will lead the technical design, coordination, and implementation of infrastructure, platform, and application integrations. You will guide technical resources across multiple disciplines to deliver secure, scalable, and sustainable solutions that align with the City's enterprise architecture and strategic objectives.

A key part of this role is ensuring solutions are operationally ready and supportable. You will produce detailed technical documentation, including low-level designs and operational procedures, and coordinate the transition of completed solutions to operational support teams to ensure long-term sustainability and maintainability.

The role focuses on the design and delivery of enterprise IT infrastructure, platforms, cloud services, and system integrations within a large organizational environment.

##Responsibilities

As a IT Solutions Engineer (Technical Lead), you will:

  • Design and Deliver Solutions: Translate high-level designs and business requirements into detailed, actionable plans and low-level designs for implementation.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with architects, business analysts, project managers, and operational teams to ensure alignment between technical solutions and business goals.
  • Lead Implementation Efforts: Oversee infrastructure or application environment build, configuration, and integration, ensuring projects meet quality standards and timelines.
  • Provide Leadership: Direct and guide technical project resources across various technical disciplines, fostering collaboration and accountability to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Ensure Operational Sustainability: Develop documentation, including the low-level design and standard operating procedures, and the support structure. Support the seamless handover of solutions and sustainment to operational teams.
  • Enhance Frameworks: Contribute to the improvement of architectural approaches and establish repeatable frameworks for designing and delivering IT solutions.

##Qualifications

  • At a minimum you will have completed a 2-year diploma in information systems plus a minimum of 6 years in an IT implementation role or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in IT implementation roles, with a proven ability to deliver large and complex solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computers, programming or scripting, applications, databases, networking, cloud-hosted solutions, integrations, and IT support environments.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience guiding technical teams and fostering collaboration.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects with competing priorities and ensuring high-quality results.
  • Commitment to service excellence, with a proactive approach to meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
