About the role

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

As Director of Strategy and Innovation at Saint-Gobain Canada, you will be a key member of the Canadian Executive Team, reporting directly to the CEO. You’ll lead strategic initiatives and innovation projects that shape the company’s future, drive growth, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with corporate goals.
  • Drive innovation through new ideas, technologies, and processes.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and execute growth strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of initiatives and projects.
  • Provide strategic guidance to senior leadership.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement

Business Transformation:

  • Lead transformation initiatives to enhance efficiency and competitiveness.
  • Integrate emerging technologies and processes.
  • Oversee change management strategies for smooth transitions.
  • Stay informed on industry trends to adapt strategies accordingly

Strategic Planning:

  • Formulate long-term plans aligned with company vision.
  • Analyze market and internal capabilities to identify growth paths.
  • Establish success metrics and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Explore strategic partnerships and acquisitions.
  • Encourage strategic thinking across all levels of the organization.

Sustainability:

  • Champion sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
  • Embed sustainable practices into operations and decision-making.
  • Communicate sustainability goals and progress to stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for resource efficiency and environmental innovation.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, strategy, or related field.

  • 10–15 years in strategic planning and innovation leadership.

  • 10 -15 years of progressive cross-functional experience in Innovation and other leadership roles, with the ability to work in and understand the dynamics of large and small operations, with a broad variety of manufacturing processes

  • Combination of manufacturing plant operations and corporate office experience

  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Proven ability to lead hybrid teams and sustain cultural change.

  • Six Sigma, WCM, lean, or other continuous improvement methodology experience

  • Proven ability to lead, shift, and sustain new cultures

  • Proven results in management and sustainment of change, employee engagement

  • Proven track record of successfully leading strategic initiatives and innovation projects.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans.
