About the role
What You’ll Do Reporting to the AVP, Tires & AOA the successful candidate will be accountable for delivering the financial plans of their merchandising categories through the development and execution of assortment, pricing and promotional plans. The Category Business Manager Powersports / Tarps and Cords is categorized as a Connector, which means that the incumbent will be working with a variety of colleagues and partners to achieve business outcomes that require a mixed use of virtual and CTC campus presence.
- Acts as the subject-matter expert and develops a broad categorical understanding of its relative consumer trends, competitive & market analysis and CTR store executional nuances and requirements
- Financial accountability for category through adherence to predefined CTR strategy objectives and guidelines
- Setting & delivering against categorical assortment plans
- Planning, execution & delivery of line review process: Approval of the assortment and pricing plans, import trip planning and execution, oversight of timeline delivery and recommended action plan for item discontinuation and pricing
- Vendor relationship/negotiation
- Recommended action plan for item discontinuation and pricing
- Define and execute against categorical promotional plans; including promotional item selection & offer to deliver against the plans and financial objectives
- Provide content for store training on product/process information
- Develops, mentors, guides and coaches Category Business Analysts by setting clear performance objectives and providing ongoing and timely feedback
What You Bring
- 5+ total years of experience in Marketing or Merchandising; at least 3 years in a Category Management leadership role
- University degree in a business-related field (i.e. Marketing, Finance)
- Proven ability to develop and execute business plans/initiatives that achieve financial performance and operational targets
- Strong business acumen skills; demonstrated expertise of retail marketing, consumer trends, and inventory management
- Proven commitment to delivering consumer-focused initiatives; superior innovation management skills
- Superior leadership skills with the ability to develop others; highly developed sense of accountability, passion and a proven track record for delivering results
- Strong executive presence with highly effective interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to influence and guide stakeholders
- Advanced MS Office Suite expertise; ability to create and deliver engaging PowerPoint presentations
- Ability to travel 2-4 weeks per year
