SUMMARY

Lantic is currently recruiting for the position of Maintenance Supervisor, located at its Taber Processing Plant. Reporting to the Manager, Reliability, the Maintenance Supervisor will support and direct the maintenance staff, the production equipment and building structure with a focus on accountability, reliability, efficiency, and waste reduction through best Maintenance Practices.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO WILL:

  • Be responsible for ensuring the scheduling and Supervision of major equipment repairs, overhauls, and rebuilding within scheduled requirements;

  • Provide supervisory support for the maintenance of the overall plant operations as required;

  • Provide support for ongoing implementation and optimization of maintenance best practices, inventory parts, standard inspection programs, predictive maintenance programs, and CMMS (Maximo);

  • Provide support in the development of annual maintenance budget;

  • Provide support for continuous reduction of plant downtime;

  • Work with the management team to improve plant operations including safety, quality, cost, efficient, and waste management;

  • Ensure Health and Safety and proper environmental practices are followed within the department;

  • Participate, promote and ensure crew members are actively engaged in Continuous Improvement;

  • Continually audit subcontractor performance of the scheduled work and provides direction as required;

  • Implement work processes to improve productivity, product quality, and food safety;

  • Identify needs for crew safety and technical training and facilitate training;

  • Distribute completed schedules;

  • Manage contractors that come to site;

  • Work with the company’s Safety Department in compliance with OH&S policies and practices to ensure safe work practices are being followed;

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO JOIN THE TEAM:

  • A minimum of a Millwright trade certificate is required;

  • Engineering Technology Diploma is preferred;

  • A combination of relevant trade certification and experience will be considered;

  • Minimum of 3-5 years maintenance management/supervisory experience in a production facility, preferably food production;

  • Excellent leadership, coaching, interpersonal, organizational, motivational, and communication skills;

  • Excellent knowledge of manufacturing and packaging techniques;

  • Experience managing a unionized workforce is preferred;

  • Knowledge and experiences with Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement programs are considered an asset;

  • Ability to engange people according to the company’s mission and values;

  • Ability to manage several projects and competing priorities;

  • Ability to create and execute project plans that have achieved the identified targets;

  • Ability to be on-call, with the possibility of occasionally working outside of normal working hours;

  • Results and detailed oriented;

  • Conflict management abilities;

  • Safety conscious record and attitude.
