Position: Assistant Audio Engineer (A2)
Department: Production Technology
Reports To: Sr. Manager, Projects, Events, Production Technology
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Audio Engineer (A2) position is a multifaceted job that will have you working in many areas throughout Rogers Arena. The incumbent will need to be comfortable with running a digital FOH board while communicating on COM, set up and mix bands/DJ’s in a live environment, run AV for corporate style events and be willing to do all levels of A2 work. This is a part-time, hourly, events-based position.
This role will focus on:

Providing technical support to various department operational and event requests
-
Providing support for AV locations in Rogers Arena including Captains Room, Loge, the Sportsbar, etc.

Setting up portable PA system and mix a variety of acts
-
Setting up DJ booth
-
Working with the drumline testing lights, audio, and in-ear monitors
-
Learning the bulkheads and signal flow in the arena
-
Setting up, operating, and troubleshooting a variety of Audio-Visual equipment
-
Setting up and running press conferences
-
Participating in cross training as assigned
-
Covering the A1 during breaks
-
Keeping gear in good condition and reporting any damage
-
Maintaining Audio room including day to day tidiness, requisitions for new or replacement tools, equipment, and supplies
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

3 or more years of work experience with digital boards
-
2 or more years of experience in an AV customer service environment
-
Completion of courses directly related to the audio industry
-
Strong knowledge of electronics handling, troubleshooting and repairs
-
Physical abilities to reasonably handle physical aspects of sound system maintenance
-
Must be okay with heights, as some work will be on the catwalk
-
Exceptional organizational and time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Ability to make decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment
-
Availability to work evenings and weekends as required by the event schedule
