Douglas Homes is a recognized home builder in Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere, and Calgary. Our company is growing, and we’re excited to welcome a Junior Draftsperson to our team! We’re looking for someone motivated, detail-oriented, and organized, with a positive attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn. This role offers long-term growth opportunities, and a chance to be part of a supportive, collaborative team.
What you will do:
- Create drawings primarily for spec homes, with some client homes, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Work closely with the Drafting Manager or senior draftsperson to ensure production numbers are met.
- Collaborate effectively with the drafting team while also being able to work independently.
- Apply knowledge of construction and building codes (preferred but not required).
- Manage priorities effectively to achieve monthly production targets, measured by doors completed.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit are mandatory as all drawings are done in Revit solely.
- The ideal candidate will have an interest in other positions as well, as this position will involve cross training with the estimating, construction and marketing departments.
- Take on tasks outside of drafting as needed to support the team.
- Demonstrate initiative, problem-solving ability, and genuine eagerness to learn.
Experience/Knowledge Requirements:
- Architectural Technologist diploma is an asset
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is mandatory
- Residential construction experience is an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to learn quickly, problem solve, and multitask
- Strong knowledge of building codes is an asset
- Attention to detail and commitment to deadlines
- Must have a demonstrated positive and proactive approach and be prepared to be flexible in the work performed

Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00AM to 5:00PM
- Friday: 8:00AM to 2:00PM

Salary: Depending on experience
