THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in uncovering insights that drive Venterra’s strategy and performance. This pivotal role is centered on working with complex datasets; you’ll be digging into the details, identifying opportunities, building reusable data products, and delivering clear, data-driven recommendations that influence business decisions.
As a storyteller, you’ll decode the narrative behind numbers and trends. Beyond data visualization and reporting, you will focus on measuring outcomes, identifying root causes, and providing forward-looking insights that help the business act with confidence. You will also mentor team members, champion analytics best practices, and contribute to the long-term development of the organization’s analytics strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead investigative and exploratory data analysis. Translate findings into actionable insights that support operational and executive decision-making.
- Define and validate key business metrics to ensure consistent and accurate measurement across the organization as part of enterprise data governance.
- Provide analytics support across corporate functions such as Finance, Accounting, HR, Operations. Financial data experience considered a strong asset.
- Drive solution design by working with business stakeholders and technical product managers to translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
- Deliver effective and interactive visualizations in Power BI to enable self-service insights.
- Implement reusable data products. Collaborate with Data Engineering to optimize data models and ensure robust, scalable, high-quality data infrastructure.
- Partner with the Data Science to apply statistical models and advanced analytics techniques to augment descriptive analysis.
- Act as a senior lead in analytics solution design, ensuring the effective application of best practises and patterns.
- Mentor junior analysts, providing technical guidance and peer reviews.
- Contribute to and influence Venterra’s analytics roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business priorities and long-term strategy.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math and Statistics, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in analytics, with proven ability to lead advanced analysis and influence business decisions.
- Deep expertise in Power BI (or equivalent visualization platforms), with a track record of delivering impactful dashboards and executive-level reporting.
- Advance SQL skills with hands-on experience designing, optimizing and troubleshooting complex queries and data pipelines.
- Experience with statistical modeling and data science techniques; proficiency in Python for advanced analytics is considered an advantage.
- Financial data analysis background is highly desirable.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, comfortable driving initiatives in fast-paced settings.
- Strong business acumen and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and present data-driven recommendations.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing team members.
