We are looking for talented Civil (Earthworks) Engineers at all levels— Junior, Intermediate, and Senior —to join our Minerals & Metals business line in North America (Toronto, Burlington, Vancouver, Calgary) as we prepare for many exciting new execution and study projects.
About the Role
- Deliver Civil (Earthworks) engineering design according to required timeframes and standards and provide high level technical expertise.
- Design process plant platforms, access roads, drainage and associated infrastructure in remote and challenging terrain.
- Use established procedures, gather & correlate basic data & perform detailed or routine engineering duties
- Prepare plans, designs, calculations & cost estimates
- Prepare equipment lists & material lists - Prepare & maintain drawing lists & files
- Facilitate the purchase of appropriate equipment, contract packages and bulks by specifying requirements and assisting Procurement with the purchase of equipment
- Contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of Civil (Earthworks) engineering by managing the man hour budget and reviewing and approving Civil (Earthworks) capital cost estimates, recommending alternative approaches where possible.
- Evaluate tenders from a technical standpoint by applying multi-disciplinary knowledge and experience
- Issue drawings and other relevant information for construction by working with Engineers and Designers
About You
- Undergraduate Degree in Civil (Earthworks) Engineering
- P.Eng designation, or working toward it
- Civil (Earthworks) design engineering experience
- Experience in consulting engineering working on industrial, mining projects is preferred
- Construction and contract administration experience is definitely an asset.
- Proficient using AutoCAD Civil 3D modeling
- Ability to resolve most technical issues in an efficient manner utilizing personal knowledge, external consultants and in-house experience.
- Knowledge of multi-discipline engineering.
- Proven ability to manage, motivate and influence employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Well-developed written and oral skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
