As a heavy equipment mechanic working in the Logistics team at Pomerleau, you will be in charge of maintaining and repairing the company's vehicles, equipment, machinery and other heavy equipment. Supporting our large-scale building and infrastructure construction projects - ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion - you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment such as hydraulic shovels, tractors, wheel loaders, off-highway trucks, lifting (cranes, etc.), surface and underground drilling, piling and concreting.
What you will do

Examine operation of equipment and inspect various machines for faults and malfunctions.

Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, fixtures or components using hand or power tools.

Determine the nature of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and failures, using computerized and other monitoring equipment, to determine the extent of repairs required.

Test repaired equipment to ensure that it is in good working order and that the repairs comply with the manufacturer's requirements.

Produce an inspection certificate after repair and inspection.

Clean and lubricate equipment and perform other routine maintenance.

Discuss vehicle operations, general condition, and future repairs with supervisor.

Attend training courses related to the acquisition of new equipment and machinery.
This role could be for you if you have

A Heavy Vehicle Mechanic certification.

5 to 8 years of relevant experience working on large engine machinery.

Familiarity with the CAT ET diagnostic system and various types of heavy machinery used in the construction industry.
