Role Summary
As the Market Development and Partnerships Specialist, Seafood, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the reach and impact of Ocean Wise’s Fisheries & Seafood program. Under the guidance of the Director, Fisheries & Seafood, you will drive growth by building new partnerships, strengthening existing relationships, and supporting market strategies that position Ocean Wise as the leading responsible seafood program in North America.
Operating at the intersection of business development, partner engagement, and brand building, you will ensure our program’s value proposition is clearly communicated and consistently delivered. You will work closely with the Fisheries Science team to translate technical expertise into compelling partner-ready solutions, while providing high-quality support in marketing, compliance, and sustainability integration.

You are a natural relationship builder with experience in business development, partnerships or sales, ideally in the seafood, grocery or ESG sector. You are organized and adaptable, you excel at managing multiple priorities, leveraging digital tools, and delivering compelling pitches and partner support.
What You Will Be Doing
Business Development & Growth
- In alignment with the program’s strategy, identify, cultivate, and onboard new partners across restaurants, retailers, suppliers, food service, and other segments
- Support the onboarding of existing and new partners into our new digital platform
- Develop tailored outreach strategies by market segment, ensuring growth in priority areas.
- Lead partner presentations, pitches, and proposal development, leveraging program marketing and brand materials.
Partner Engagement & Retention
- Collaborate and support the Partner Relations Specialist to ensure existing partners receive exceptional service, remain engaged and meet compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with the Marketing team to deliver compelling co-branded campaigns and ESG storytelling opportunities.
- Ensure appropriate and consistent use of the Ocean Wise eco-label across partner platforms and campaigns.
- Streamline and improve renewal processes to achieve revenue targets and secure timely data submissions.
Marketing & Brand Development
- Work with the Marketing Team to develop industry-leading materials, case studies, and digital assets to drive engagement.
- Represent Ocean Wise at key industry events, trade shows, and conferences to increase visibility, credibility, and market influence.
- Identify opportunities for brand amplification and new avenues to position Ocean Wise as the leading sustainable seafood program in North America.
CRM & Program Optimization
- Serve as the Salesforce lead for the Fisheries & Seafood program, ensuring accurate data tracking and pipeline management.
- Analyze partner engagement, pipeline performance, and renewal trends to provide insights and recommendations to the Director.
- Contribute to program performance frameworks by linking partner activity to measurable conservation outcomes.
What You Bring

3+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, sales, or program coordination, ideally in a related industry (seafood, grocery, food service, ESG, etc.).

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and partner needs simultaneously.

Familiarity with CRM systems, salesforce considered an asset, and comfortability using digital tools to track and report on activities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support presentations, partner communications, and event coordination.

Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships and provide excellent partner support.

Collaborative and team-oriented, with the ability to work effectively across departments (science, marketing, partnerships).

How You Will Be Measured
- Successfully manager partner relationships, ensuring partners receive exceptional service and meet compliance requirements.
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate usage of eco-label across partner platforms and campaigns, develop industry-leading materials to drive engagement, and identify opportunities for brand amplification.
- Actively complete targeted and creative outreach strategies and activities to ensure market growth and engagement with key partners.
- Ensure partner is tracked accurately and efficiently within Salesforce.
- Representing Ocean Wise at key events to building visibility and credibility in the market.
What We Offer
This full-time, benefits-eligible position offers:
- A remote working environment, with the opportunity to work in person in our beautiful downtown Vancouver head office.
- A competitive base salary, $55,500 – 65,000, in line with market data for not-for-profit organizations

Where and How You’ll Work
This is a remote position with the opportunity to work in person from our headquarters in downtown Vancouver, if desired. While this role is currently eligible to perform duties in a remote capacity, Ocean Wise reserves the right, with reasonable notice, to require you to perform your duties in person at the employer's offices or other designated locations. The standard work week for this role is 37.5 hours, Monday through Friday, with rare exceptions for some evening or weekend work. This role may require flexibility to travel for meetings and/or to work occasional weekends and evenings to attend Ocean Wise shoreline cleanups, events, and conferences.
