Job Description Responsibilities:
- Operate a Class 1 commercial vehicle for night line haul operations from Regina to Minot, ND via North Portal
- Monday to Friday schedule with a 22:30 departure time from Regina, with some flexibility required
- Safely transport freight across the USA-Canada border, ensuring compliance with all international shipping regulations
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, rest periods, and cargo information using electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations
- Properly secure and monitor cargo during transit to prevent damage or loss
- Navigate routes efficiently, considering weather conditions, traffic patterns, and delivery schedules
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, border officials, and customers as needed
- Manage time effectively to meet strict delivery deadlines
- Maintain a clean and organized truck cabin
- Promptly report any accidents, injuries, or vehicle maintenance issues to management
- Assist with the loading and unloading of freight when required
- Comply with all company policies, as well as local, state, and federal transportation laws
- Represent the company professionally through appearance, behavior, and interaction with clients and the public
Qualifications
- A FAST Card or the ability to get approved to run into the USA
- Class 1 license with a minimum of 1 year of experience
- Clean criminal record
- Clean driver's abstract
- Supply 2 references who you reported to or supervised you.
- Must be able to work Canadian statutory holidays. Run coincides with US stat holidays
