About the role
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Installation. Shop fabrication. Various locations. Sheet metal fabrication shop. Tasks: Manufacture and assemble in the factory the ducts for hot air heating, air conditioning and ventilation. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Develop computerized pattern and layout. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Large workload. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Team player. Flexibility. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Employment terms options: Morning. Day.
