The Opportunity
The purpose of this position is to review, analyze, negotiate, and settle moderate to complex auto physical damage claims.The incumbent is responsible for investigating these losses where necessary and assigning independent adjusters and relevant experts to assist in the effective management and resolution of the claim. Supporting the technical development of their peer group through training and mentorship is also a key element of this role.

Supports the technical development of staff within the claims department through training and
mentorship
Builds strong working relationships across claims teams and other functional areas
Demonstrates a high level of employee engagement and collaboration
Strong communication, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills
How You Will Create An Impact
Review, analyze, negotiate, and settle moderate to complex claims auto physical damage claims
Investigate claims, determine coverage, and evaluate damages and exposures
Interpret policy wordings including the OAP and OPCF endorsements
Apply fault determination rules and identify potential liability exposure
Coordinate with independent adjusters, vendors, and other experts to support claim resolution
Manage reserves, payments, and documentation throughout the claim lifecycle
Identify subrogation opportunities where applicable
Support internal teams such as Underwriting and Finance on claim development and risk considerations
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Claims Support and Level 1 Claims staff
What You Will Bring
Post-secondary education and 3–5 years of insurance experience, preferably in claims
Experience handling Auto Physical Damage
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Working towards or completion of the CIP designation is considered an asset
Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office programs
