We have an immediate opening for an Machine Operators at our Brampton Extrusion Plant.

Can Art Aluminum Extrusion is a privately held North American based extruder of standard and custom aluminum profiles. Can Art has grown from a single press operation in 1988 to the multi plant, multi press operation that we are today.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production machinery to ensure proper functioning and quality output.
  • Set and adjust machine controls according to work orders and material specifications.
  • Prepare raw or semi-finished materials for processing (e.g., loading, positioning, or staging).
  • Detect and report defects such as bowing, die lines, flatness issues, or off-square products
  • Use measuring tools (calipers, squares, gauges) to verify accuracy and quality standards.
  • Assist with equipment setup, including preparing dies, tools, or fixtures as required.
  • Safely use lifting equipment or other mechanical assists to move heavy parts or tooling.
  • Follow work instructions and production schedules to meet daily targets.
  • Provide support in other areas of the line, such as packing or material handling, when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace at all times.
  • Adhere to company policies and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Communicate machine issues promptly to supervisors and maintenance teams.
  • Be willing to cross-train and provide coverage for other operators as required.

Qualification Required

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and production schedules.
  • Familiarity with measuring devices (calipers, squares, gauges).
  • Understanding of different materials, alloys, and their handling requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to detect product defects.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.

Skills Required

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety best practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in extrusion or similar manufacturing environment is an asset

Working Conditions

  • Plant Environment
  • Twelve hour rotating continental shift
  • Exposure to loud noise and heat
  • Overtime as needed

Through the continuous support and dedication of our ownership, management, employees, suppliers, and most importantly our customers, Can Art has grown from a single press operation in 1988 to the multi plant, multi press operation that we are today.

We have built a reputation for uncompromised quality, responsive service, and a commitment to growth in the markets we service across North America. From initial inquiry to delivery Can Art has the knowledge, capacity, and capability to handle your requirements and exceed your expectations.

Built in 1995, our 110,000 square foot corporate head office and plant is located in Brampton, Ontario. In 2000 we added a second 190,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Windsor, Ontario (near Detroit, Michigan). This plant enhanced our ability to better service the North American market. In pursuit of vertical integration, in 2012 we added a state of the art 45,000 square foot anodizing facility in Mississauga, Ontario.
