Senior School Mathematics Teacher
Two Full-Time, Indefinite Term Contracts/One Full-Time, Fixed Term Contract
Ashbury College is a leading not-for-profit independent day and boarding school for students in Grades 4 to 12, located in Ottawa, Canada’s capital and the traditional, unceded territory of the Anishinàbe Algonquin Nation. Based in central Ottawa, Ashbury College is currently seeking three full-time Grade 9 to 12 mathematics teachers beginning in the 2026 – 2027 academic year. Two full-time, indefinite contracts and one full-time, fixed contract for a period of two-years.
As the successful candidate, you have demonstrated subject matter expertise. You also have a history of school and community involvement, promoting belonging, bringing enthusiasm and energy to the classroom, thriving in a busy learning community, and working collaboratively with colleagues. Your teaching practice includes current learning theories, and creative use of technology. Priority will be given to candidates who are Ontario College of Teachers certified.
Minimum Requirements
- A degree in mathematics
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification (in good standing), currently in progress toward achieving OCT certification, or demonstrated ability to obtain OCT certification
- Certification in senior level mathematics or equivalent certification
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise
Preferred Qualifications
- The ability to teach in both English and French
- IB Mathematics teaching and professional development experience
- Evidence of teaching that has been enhanced by technology
- Demonstrated commitment to enriching whole school life for students, including promoting pluralism and enhancing student belonging
- Experience leading an enriched mathematics club and /or leading other co-curricular activities.
- International teaching experience

Specific responsibilities include:
- Teach full-time (5 classes).
- Lead and participate in co-curricular activities.
- Lead a Teacher Advisory Group.
- Provide on-call coverage as required.
- Actively participate in Department meetings, faculty teaching and learning opportunities, and whole school activities.
Ashbury College provides a competitive compensation package, including participation in the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan.
