About the role

Great Blue Resorts owns and operates 10 private resort lakefront properties located throughout Ontario’s cottage country. These properties offer outright ownership of beautiful pre-manufactured seasonal recreational cottages. Our resorts have full facilities including community areas, swimming pools, splash pads, multi-sports courts, playgrounds and beaches.

Backshop Attendant Role Overview

The Backshop role is designed to ensure the Corporate Objectives of maximizing profitability and Owner, Guest & Staff happiness for their resort by following the 3V Philosophy of Visibility, Velocity and Value. The Backshop role is a strong sales driver, profit focused and people oriented. The Backshop attendant is responsible for overseeing daily duties on the golf course. This position requires strong customer service, cleaning, and coordinating skills.

Responsibilities

  1. Cleaning, Coordination and Maintenance

a. Providing owners and members with clean, functioning and well-maintained golf carts

b. Retrieving abandoned golf carts

c. Ensuring golf carts in need of preventative and normal maintenance are taken out of rotation

d. Maintaining chipping areas ensuring it is tidy and stocked, cleaning of general course

e. Coordinate with the Proshop to ensure schedules are followed

  1. Customer Service

a. Providing friendly professional customer service

b. Set up and maintenance of owners carry bags and clubs

c. Providing directions and recommendations

d. Politely enforcing course etiquette

e. Recommend products and/or add on

  1. Event Staff

a. Assisting in the set up and tear down of special events and tournaments

b. Providing friendly professional service to owners and members

c. Complete regularly scheduled inventories

d. Aid fellow employees

  1. Work with Resort General Manager and Golf Manager

a. Provide and complete backshop checklist

b. Relay any valuable communication, recommendations, concerns, and opportunities

Skills/Requirements

  • Strong time management, multitasking and communication skills
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Long durations of sitting, standing, or walking may be required
  • Must be available to work weekends and some evenings or morning shifts
  • Ability to lift upwards of 30 pounds for short periods of time
