Teniye Market, a division of Simpcw Resources Group, is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail & Guest Experience Associate to join our seasonal team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with people in a fun, fast-paced retail environment. From fresh produce and local goods to gifts, souvenirs, coffee, and ice cream, Teniye Market offers a unique shopping experience for both local residents and visitors to the North Thompson Valley. Reporting to the Store Manager, the Retail & Guest Experience Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining an attractive and welcoming store environment, processing transactions accurately, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the market. The successful candidate enjoys engaging with people, takes initiative, and contributes positively to a collaborative team environment. Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications: Customer service and cash-handling experience is considered an asset Previous retail, food service, hospitality, or tourism experience is considered an asset Strong interpersonal and communication skills Friendly, positive, and professional attitude Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Comfortable learning about a variety of products and making recommendations to customers Ability to lift up to 25 lbs Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform outdoor tasks as required Food Safe Certification is an asset or willingness to obtain Reliable, punctual, and dependable In this role you will: Welcome customers and visitors in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner Create memorable experiences for guests by providing exceptional customer service Provide product information and recommend produce, gift items, souvenirs, beverages, and specialty products Process customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system Stock, rotate, organize, and merchandise products to maintain attractive displays Monitor inventory levels and assist with regular stock checks Receive, unload, and inspect incoming deliveries and supplies Verify shipment contents and report discrepancies or damaged goods to the Store Manager Ensure food products are handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with food safety standards Check product quality and remove damaged or expired items Promote seasonal products, special offers, and new arrivals Serve customers at the coffee and ice cream counter Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the market, cooler, freezers, storage areas, staff room, and food preparation spaces Assist with opening and/or closing procedures as required Empty garbage and recycling bins and maintain outdoor areas Sweep sidewalks, parking areas, and remove debris as required Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance, including basic snow removal, salting walkways, watering plants, and maintaining the dog park area Clean washrooms, windows, glass doors, playground equipment, and other customer-facing areas Assist customers with carrying purchases to their vehicles when requested Report safety concerns, maintenance issues, or damages to management Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily operations Follow workplace safety procedures, sanitation standards, and company policies Perform other duties as assigned What’s in it for you?
