We have an exciting role for a Social Worker III (clinical expertise) to join our multidisciplinary team at the Calgary Remand Centre. Under the direction of the Assistant Manager, the Social Worker III works independently within the Addiction and Mental Health team to provide a range of psychosocial interventions using evidence informed practice for remanded patients within Correctional Health Services. In addition to patient education and advocacy, the Social Worker III conducts assessments using direct observation to inform case conceptualization, diagnosis, and the development and implementation of a treatment plan. The Social Worker III develops evidence-informed interventions guided by best practice for clients using a variety of therapeutic modalities including restricted psychosocial interventions.
Description:
As a Social Worker III, you will perform either advanced level assessment and treatment or act as a clinical lead. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent experience within the last 12 months working with vulnerable populations to assess, diagnose and treat mental, emotional and behavioral disorders or conditions as well as evaluate client response to treatment. Knowledge of a range of evidence-based therapy models. Ability to perform restricted psychosocial activities. Understanding of the impact of Indigenous people's history, culture and reconciliation on clinical assessment and intervention. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work autonomously in high intensity situations. Ability to intervene in mental health crisis situations, using a crisis intervention framework, risk management and safety planning. Current BLS.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with mandated populations. Connect Care experience.
