About the role

Transdev Canada is seeking dedicated and compassionate HandyDART Bus Drivers to join our Kamloops team.

As a HandyDART Bus Driver, you will provide essential transportation services for individuals with disabilities and mobility challenges, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity. Your Role

Passenger Assistance: Safely and courteously assist passengers with boarding, securing mobility devices, and disembarking from the vehicle. Safe Operation: Operate HandyDART vehicles following all traffic regulations, company safety protocols, and accessible transportation standards. Route Adherence: Follow assigned routes and schedules, making stops at designated locations to ensure passengers' timely arrival at their destinations. Safety and Sensitivity: Provide a safe, respectful, and empathetic environment for passengers, addressing their specific needs and concerns. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any defects or maintenance issues to the maintenance team.

Your Profile

You have a valid Class 4 Unrestricted driver's license or equivalent. You have clean driving record. You have strong customer service skills and empathy for passengers with disabilities. You can operate accessible transportation equipment and secure mobility devices. You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing and background checks. Prior experience in passenger transportation, especially with individuals with disabilities, is an asset.

Your location:

This is a casual, unionized position in Kamloops, BC. HandyDART Drivers must be available for five days a week (assigned two consecutive days off). Early, split & late shifts may be required.
