###Overview

Are you currently enrolled in a post-secondary education related to Planning and interested in getting hands on experience? Are you a self started with excellent time management, organizational, and problem solving skills? If so, we want you on our Development & Engineering Services team!

This position is focused on assisting Planning Section staff with respect to long-range projects and current development applications. You will be expected to assist other staff in the Development Services Department on various projects and activities as well as being responsible for day-to-day planning duties such as coordinating meetings, research, and assisting the public.

###Responsibilities

Responding to public and agency inquiries by providing information and education regarding land use regulations, local bylaws and provincial legislation.

Providing technical support for projects and development applications.

Preparation of land use referrals and Board reports by researching, gathering information and drafting material for Planning staff review.

Updating Planning section records (electronic and paper files).

Other related duties as assigned.

###Qualifications

Training and Experience Required:

Currently enrolled in and returning to a recognized Planning Degree program or related field.

Valid BC Driver’s Licence

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Proficiency in MS Office and basic accounting skills.

Knowledge of bylaws and other government legislation and procedures.

Knowledge of ArcGIS and internet mapping preferred.

**Physical Effort:**Occasional lifting and carrying of office supplies, intermittent keyboarding.

**Physical Environment:**Office environment.

**Mental Stress:**Multi-tasking, meeting deadlines and occasional confrontational situations with the public. Attention to detail to ensure material

provided to the public and agencies are accurate.

**Sensory Attention:**Periods of concentration for detailed administrative and technical duties while dealing with frequent interruptions.

###Additional Information

33-week, full-time permanent seasonal position from March 2026 to November 2026. This position will work 6:30 am to 3:00 pm on a Sunday to Thursday schedule in the North Zone. This position pays $31.60 per hour.
