We are a fully delegated Indigenous Child & Family Service Agency providing programs and services to Indigenous children, youth, and families on and off reserve within Stó:lō Territory in the Fraser Valley between Yale First Nation and Surrey BC.

General Ledger Clerk - 1756

Regular Full-Time Position– Chilliwack

Salary- $47,392.49 to $54,350.69 per annum (35 hrs. per week)

POSITION SUMMARY:

Works closely with the Finance Manager to ensure that accounting data transferred to the General Ledger (GL) is accurate and produced on a timely basis. Assists in the administration and overall coordination of the accounts receivable duties and responsibilities for FVACFSS. Provide backup support to other finance functions.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Grade 12 Graduate with courses in Accounting or Business Administration or related courses.
  • Actual experience (minimum of 1 year) in tasks cited in the specific duties and responsibilities.
  • Computer skills (WINDOWS 10, MS OFFICE, ACCPAC MODULES, and SIMPLY ACCOUNTING) are a desirable characteristic supplemented by an aptitude for detailed work, ability to follow instructions, and possess basic analytical skills.
  • Have excellent organization skills, good coordination, and monitoring skills and able to keep good recording system.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to establish rapport with people of all educational and occupational backgrounds.
  • Must have a valid BC Driver’s Class 5 License with no restrictions.
  • Criminal Record Check required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide support to the Finance Manager.
    • Reconcile monthly General Ledger Accounts.
    • Update database monthly to ensure accurate information.
    • Ensuring compliance with FVACFSS Policies and Procedures.
    • Backing up payroll, accounts payable and other accounting staff functions when required.

B.C. Child, Family and Community Services Act.
