What will you do?
- Planning and curriculum development: Designing and creating technical training programs and materials based on the needs of the organization and industry trends. This involves conducting needs assessments, identifying skill gaps, setting learning objectives, and developing training plans.
- Training delivery: Conducting technical training sessions, workshops, or classes to both internal and external team members, either in-person or virtually. This includes delivering presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises to effectively transfer technical knowledge and skills.
- Tracking training progress: Keeping records of team member training participation, progress, and certification achievement. Monitoring and reporting training metrics, such as completion rates, training feedback, and performance improvements.
- Collaborating with subject matter experts: Working closely with internal or external subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop, update, or validate technical training content. Collaborating with them for content review, knowledge transfer, and ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Staying updated on technology advancements: Continuously keeping up with industry trends, new technologies, and changes that may impact the training content or delivery methods. Researching and learning about emerging technical skills and incorporating them into training programs as needed.
- Stakeholder management: Collaborating with various stakeholders such as department heads, project managers, or team leads to understand their training needs and aligning the technical training programs accordingly. Building strong relationships with these stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and support.
- Health and Safety: Ensures adherence to all safety standards and practices, including oversight, care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and materials.
What do you bring?
- Strong knowledge and experience in the technical field related to the training programs being delivered is essential. This may include areas such as software development and information technology.
- A solid understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training techniques is required. Experience in designing and delivering technical training programs is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for presenting technical information in a clear and understandable manner to trainees with varying levels of technical knowledge.
- Must be capable of analyzing training needs, identifying skill gaps, and developing effective training solutions.
- Experience in managing multiple training projects simultaneously, including scheduling, resource allocation, and tracking progress, is often required.
- Proficiency in using training development tools, learning management systems, and other software and technologies relevant to the field is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in instructional design, technical training, or a related role is generally required.
- Gas fitter and Refrigeration Mechanic (313D) license is highly preferred.
